Jewelry artist Kay Fazio's Sphynx Cat Pendant is standing straight up in .925 sterling silver.
The pendant has wrinkles upon wrinkles, just like a true lifelike Sphynx cat. He is approximately 2 inches tall and .75 inch at the widest point.
This is a large and solid sterling silver pendant. He's as playful as he is sweet with his paws grabbing your chain. His expression is looking right up into your face while wearing him.
As with all of Fazio's cat jewlery, the Sphynx Cat Pendants are custom carved, individually cast and hand finished. It has all the lifelike details customary in all of Fazio's Cat Jewelry.
American artist Kay Fazio has been creating beautiful cat jewelry in 14kt gold and sterling silver since 1999. Her very first piece was a Bengal cat pendant for herself to honor “Sterling”, her own Bengal. Kay is passionate about her cats, and knowledgeable about the features of breeds. In her jewelry, you’ll not only see those details, but hints at that breed’s personality. The details are exquisite, with each hair of the coat in place. The cats’ captivating facial expressions will capture your heart!
About This Breed: The rare Sphynx’s most distinguishing feature is that it has no traditional coat. In actuality, it does have a velvety “vellus hair” covering, but no fur for warmth. Because of this, they tend to enjoy cuddling with their people. The Sphinx’s lack of coat and wrinkly skin, combined with their enormous ears, wedge-shaped heads, and little pot bellies, give them a distinctive look indeed! The Mexican-origin breed was near extinction in the 1800s before being revived and popularized in the late 1900s using hairless cats from Canada and Minnesota. Standards for the Sphynx differ between cat associations. But as anyone who’s lived with one knows, these extremely outgoing cats are energetic, curious, and intelligent.
Be aware that this is hand-crafted jewelry and the artist will make it after you place your order. These are not sitting around in a warehouse somewhere waiting to be shipped. Depending on her workload at the time she receives the order, it may take up to a month for you to receive your pendant. If you have a gifting occasion approaching, order quickly!
