Safari Cat Shedding Comb
Metal combs can be used to groom all cats with medium and long haired coats. The comb you choose needs to reach all the way to the cat’s skin, as much of the value of grooming is to distribute oils from the skin onto the hair follicles to keep them supple and provide a touch of waterproofing. Finer-toothed combs with closely spaced teeth are perfect for thin, fine hair. A thick-toothed comb with teeth spaced wider is good for cats with a thick or coarse coat. The Shedding comb is an excellent tool for breaking up and removing mats. The special skip tooth design lifts out loose hair. The long teeth penetrate deep into the undercoat, while the short teeth collect the loose hair. The smooth rounded teeth are gentle to the skin. For heavily matted hair, use this comb and a Safari rake or slicker to remove mats. A comb is the final step in grooming your cat. Once you have cleaned the coat of all mats and loose hairs, give the cat a final going-over by combing all the hair back into the direction of its natural growth with the metal comb. If the cat’s coat is already well groomed, the comb may be the only step you need. Make sure you comb all the way to the skin, but go easy so you don’t scrape the skin. This technique will stimulate blood flow and oil production in the skin, and also allow it to breathe properly, since you’ve removed all the dead hair that was blocking it. Your cat should have a shiny, beautiful coat when you’re done! |

About OldMaidCatLady.comWe're a small business, founded by a genuine old maid cat lady who loves her cat the same as if she were her child, just like you do yours. All products are shipped directly to you from our suppliers; we don't maintain any inventory. This eliminates double shipping, warehousing and staffing that would drive up costs, allowing us to price our items as reasonably as possible. When it comes to shipping, we charge you only what our suppliers charge us to ship the items to you. Those retailers who offer you "free" shipping are only raising their prices to cover the cost of shipping, and we'd rather be honest with you about it. If our suppliers include shipping in the prices of the items, we offer the same to you. We try to treat all our customers the way we'd like to be treated ourselves, and appreciate your taking the time to get to know us a little.
