Jewelry artist Kay Fazio presents her Classic Siamese Cat Pendant in .925 sterling silver with oxidized highlights to accent his color point. He is approximately 2" from the tip of his ear to the tip of his tail. His body is around 1.5" long (without his tail) and he stands about 1-1/8" tall from the tip of his ear to the tip of his paw. He weighs 9.3 grams in sterling silver. As with all of Fazio's cat replicas, each cat is custom carved, individually cast and hand finished for perfect detail.
American artist Kay Fazio has been creating beautiful cat jewelry in 14kt gold and sterling silver since 1999. Her very first piece was a Bengal cat pendant for herself to honor “Sterling”, her own Bengal. Kay is passionate about her cats, and knowledgeable about the features of breeds. In her jewelry, you’ll not only see those details, but hints at that breed’s personality. The details are exquisite, with each hair of the coat in place. The cats’ captivating facial expressions will capture your heart!
About This Breed: One of the earliest recognized breeds of cats, the Siamese was described and illustrated in manuscripts dating back to the 14th century. By the late 1800s, their color pointed coat pattern, striking blue eyes and long, slender bodies had made them all the rage in England, where they were being imported regularly from the Orient. Over the next century, the cats were bred to be less cobby than original imports like the one depicted in this pendant, and their popularity soared after they appeared in several popular movies. The modern breed standard calls for a triangular-shaped head, thin muzzle, almond-shaped eyes, and large ears positioned on the sides of the head. Siamese cats are quite extroverted, vocal, affectionate and intelligent.
Be aware that this is hand-crafted jewelry and the artist will make it after you place your order. These are not sitting around in a warehouse somewhere waiting to be shipped. Depending on her workload at the time she receives the order, it may take up to a month for you to receive your pendant.
