Every flea you see on your cat means that there are approximately 30 more living in your home. Fortunately, there's a natural and safe solution!

Diatomaceous earth, or DE, is silicon dioxide made from the fossilized remains of tiny aquatic organisms known as diatoms. Food-grade DE is purified and generally recognized as safe by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. It's even used in some human food and beverages! DE works by piercing the exoskeletons of insects and absorbing the oils and fats from them. Despite being deadly to them, it is apparently harmless to wildlife, pets, and humans.

Made in the USA!

By applying Flea Away DE as directed below to 3 zones you will create an undesirable environment for fleas and be extremely pleased with the results.

ZONE 1 - Directly on pet dogs, cats, kittens and puppies: Apply only to a completely dry pet, from the back of the neck along the backbone of your cat using 1 teaspoon per 10 pounds of your cat's weight (example: 1 teaspoon for a 10 lb. cat) Repeat application weekly if needed.

You must also use Flea Away DE where fleas hatch and live In your home and in your carpet. You will then achieve maximum effectiveness and satisfaction.

ZONE 2 - Home and carpet: For best results use on dry carpet. Vacuum first, sprinkle on carpet, and thoroughly spread and brush Flea Away DE into fibers and matting of carpet. Repeat for every 3ft x 3ft of carpet. Vacuum the entire carpet 48 hours after each application to remove any excess dust. Repeat application again in one week. Once a month thereafter. Sofa, couch, upholstery, chairs - If your cat is allowed in these areas, there are fleas living under cushions and in the cracks and crevices. Simply take Flea Away DE and rub into these areas once a month. No vacuuming is needed. Pet bedding - Rub Flea Away DE into cushions, cracks and crevices once a week. No vacuuming is needed.

ZONE 3 - Yard And Outdoor Pet Areas: To apply in your yard or garden sprinkle Flea Away DE around outdoor areas where your cat spends time. Use approximately one bottle per 375 square feet of yard. In areas close to the house, try to get it into cracks and crevices creating a border in front of doorway entrances to home. The powder can be mixed with water and applied using a sprayer (use approximately two tablespoons per gallon of water). Fleas like shady, sandy and moist areas. Be sure to remove yard debris and keep grass mowed short in shady spots. Re-apply every 2-3 weeks in target areas if flea infestation is severe, or if you live in an area with a long flea season.

Other Pests: Flea Away DE creates a border against ticks, cockroaches, ants, bedbugs, carpet beetles, centipedes, crickets, earwigs, grasshoppers, millipedes, spider mites, slugs and silverfish.

Camping - Sprinkle Flea Away DE around tent and camp area to create a border from crawling insects. Use Flea Away DE in tent when storing to create a border from insects.

Dosage For Cats: Because food-grade Flea Away DE is not a toxic agent, it is also a natural organic wormer dosage for worming pets. The following can be given once or twice daily:
  • Kittens: 1/2 to 1 teaspoon
  • Cats: 2 teaspoons
If sensitivities occur after using, wash your cat with mild soap and rinse with water. This product is FDA-approved, and has also earned the National Animal Supplement Council's Seal of Approval. Consult a veterinarian before using on medicated animals. Store in a cool dry place. Keep out of reach of children.

About OldMaidCatLady.com

About OldMaidCatLady.com

We're a small business, founded by a genuine old maid cat lady who loves her cats the same as if they were her children, just like you do yours. All products are shipped directly to you from our suppliers; we don't maintain any inventory. This eliminates double shipping, warehousing and staffing that would drive up costs, allowing us to price our items as reasonably as possible. When it comes to shipping, we charge you only what our suppliers charge us to ship the items to you. Those retailers who offer you "free" shipping are only raising their prices to cover the cost of shipping, and we'd rather be honest with you about it. If our suppliers include shipping in the prices of the items, we offer the same to you. We try to treat all our customers the way we'd like to be treated ourselves, and appreciate your taking the time to get to know us a little. If you'd like to know more, click on the "About Us" link in the menu.
