Chinese Symbol Keepsake Memory Pendant

Keep a part of your beloved kitty close to you always with one of these Chinese Symbol Keepsake Memory Pendants^® from artist Linda Huffman! Choose from a pendant that says "Love" or "Eternity" in Chinese characters on a green or yellow glass background. Large product image here shows ("Eternity" in green.) Enclose a bit of cremains or a lock of your cat's hair inside this pendant; the hair option makes it available as a reminder of a living cat, as well! Memorialize up to three cats in this pendant; a small additional charge will apply for each additional cat.

All Memory Pendants have several layers of glass covered by a clear glass cap that protects the dichroic glass coatings and gives each piece of cremation jewelry the depth and full, rich colors for which Linda is known. 

Once the memorial is custom designed and hand made to your specifications, it is placed in a kiln at 1500 degrees F for several hours. Then it gradually cools down over up to 8 hours. After a strict quality inspection to check for any flaws, it may undergo a second kiln treatment. Afterward, it is cleaned, polished, and inspected again. Great care is taken to ensure only the best memorial for your beloved cat.

Argentium^® Silver is the most tarnish-resistant silver available today. Invented in the 1990s, this fine silver is .925 silver, but the compounded metal is Germanium instead of the nickel or copper used in most Sterling silver. This element makes the silver more durable and less prone to tarnishing or firescale. L. Huffman Studios is a registered licensee by Argentium^® Silver.

The Chinese symbol is hand painted in reverse on the inside of the protective glass cap, so the ash or hair sample cannot be fused directly into the piece, as with the other Memory Pendants. It is instead set in silver and the lock of hair or ash is encased in a special plastic casing, developed and perfected by the artist, and placed between the silver plate and the glass cap. This ensures that the ash or lock of hair is protected from damage by exposure to air or water, while still being visible through the viewing area on the back of the pendant. You may also choose to eliminate the viewing area in favor of a solid silver backing, keeping the contents hidden and known only to you.

Comes with a complementary black neck cord in your choice of length, from 16" to 24". If you'd like, you can order an 18" sterling silver snake chain for $26.95 additional. The memorial is stamped with the artist's name on the back, and may be engraved by the silversmith of your choice once you receive it. Linda does not offer custom engraving herself. Diameter of the finished piece is 1" across.

When you order this pendant, you will receive a collection kit from Linda that will include instructions for you to choose the color and sentiment for your pendant and a vial for you to send in the cremains. If you would like to send a photo of your cat along with the kit, Linda would appreciate having this to help her visualize the cat as she works. Your pendant will be custom made, which could take anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks. Any remaining ash will be returned to you with your pendant. No two are alike. The pendant is highly durable, but is susceptible to scratches and should be protected from scraping against anything that would scratch the surface.
