Charity Have a Heart Silver Cat Pendant
This is Charity, Kay Fazio’s Have a Heart Pendant. She clings to her heart full of hope that FIP, HCM, and PRAA can find cures. With each Charity Pendant sale a donation will be made to feline research. Together we can make a difference if we just have a heart!
Charity’s heart can be engraved with up to 7 characters, perhaps your kitten’s name and/or special date. She is approximately 1.25 inches tall X 1 inch wide. She is solid .925 sterling silver. The chain opening is large enough for a 4-millimeter weight chain (not included).
American artist Kay Fazio has been creating beautiful cat jewelry in 14kt gold and sterling silver since 1999. Her very first piece was a Bengal cat pendant for herself to honor “Sterling”, her own Bengal. Kay is passionate about her cats, and knowledgeable about the features of breeds. In her jewelry, you’ll not only see those details, but hints at that breed’s personality. The details are exquisite, with each hair of the coat in place. The cats’ captivating facial expressions will capture your heart!
About FIP: Caused by the coronavirus, a common virus to which most cats are exposed. In certain cats, it mutates into Feline Infectious Peritonitis, an always-fatal disease with “wet” and “dry” forms that manifest in stages that can mimic other diseases. There is currently no effective vaccine, treatment, or method of diagnosis for FIP.
About HCM: Hypertropic Cardiomyopathy has an unknown, but likely genetic, cause. It claims young to middle-aged cats from congestive heart failure or blood clots as proper blood flow is inhibited when the muscle in the left ventricle of the heart becomes abnormally thickened.
About PRAA: Persistent Right Aortic Arch is a congenital defect in a cat’s heart that causes the esophagus to constrict so that the kitten cannot consume enough solid food to grow. Surgery is the best treatment, and without it the kitten usually does not survive.
Be aware that this is a hand-crafted piece of jewelry and the artist will make it after you place your order. These are not sitting around in a warehouse somewhere waiting to be shipped. Depending on her workload at the time she receives the order, it may take up to a month for you to receive your pendant. If you have a gift-giving occasion approaching, order quickly!
