Old Maid Cat Lady was saddened in early June to hear of the passing of mystery author Lilian Jackson Braun at age 97 in a hospice in Landrum, South Carolina. She authored the wildly popular The Cat Who... series, some of which we carry here. That series began in 1966 and contained 29 books, even inspiring a parody by Robert Kaplow entitled The Cat Who Killed Lilian Jackson Braun. Ms. Braun died before completing her final novel, The Cat Who Smelled Smoke, and her husband said that was her one regret. We'll miss her feline characters, Koko and Yum Yum, the precocious Siamese cats. Farewells and purrs from all of us here at Old Maid Cat Lady.
